tacrec Posted June 1, 2021 Author Share Posted June 1, 2021 (edited) The Smash and the Ghosts played nearly lights out for 10 innings, until the Smash defense fell apart in the 11th and the Ghosts got a walk off single to win 1-0. It's the first win for the Ghosts and the Smash scoreless innings streak ends at 37. Still probably a record. The Bombers crushed a home run in the 6th and held on to win 3-1. Inter-network week is next week featuring the top two teams in the league as the Smash host the Deadly Dogs! The Armada scored three runs in the first inning, the first two with no outs! They destroy the Beamriders 5-1. The Bombers took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Ghosts tied it in the 4th. The Bombers crushed a home run in the 5th to take the lead 4-1. The Ghosts hit a GRAND SLAM in the top of the 9th to take the lead 5-4. The Bombers WON 6-5 on a walk off single in the bottom of the 9th inning!!!!! A grand slam is rare enough, but to LOSE the game afterwards? Both closers just didn't have it today. They took a 2-0 lead in the 2nd inning. It was almost another closer collapse in the 9th when the Mutants had bases loaded with no outs. The Dogs scored a run in the 2nd inning, the Smash tied it in the 6th 1-1. The Smash exploded for a GRAND SLAM in the 8th inning and win 5-1! The Smash are the best team in the league right now. The Upmonsters scored three runs in the 2nd inning, then took the lead 4-1 in the 3rd. The Raiders scored on an error in the 4th, then crushed a home run in the 5th to cut the lead to 4-3. The Upmonsters went on to win 5-3. The winners of 4 out of the 5 games this week have scored 5 runs or more. Crazy. Well it was almost a color rush game, but the Dogs had the wrong color code...oops. The River Raiders took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, the Deadly Dogs tied it 1-1 in the 7th. Both teams battled it out until the 14th inning when the Armada exploded for four straight hits to win 2-1! Armada now has a four game win streak. The Mutants and Smash are now tied for 1st, with the Upmonsters .5 GB and Beamriders 1 GB! Four weeks left in the season! This is the tightest the Action Network has been in years, if not ever. After starting the season 1-4, the Beamriders have won three in a row and are a half game out of first place, tied for second place with the Mutants! They hold on to beat the River Raiders 2-0, sinking their championship hopes. The Bombers are now a half game out of first place. Only three weeks left until the Championship Series!
