Is it necessary to press reset before starting the Raiders of the Lost Ark game after turning the power on and letting it run for a while?

This game requires 2 joysticks.  The left controller moves Indy while the second joystick controls your inventory.  To start the game, press the fire button on the left joystick.

There are some games that requires this, but I don't recall if Raiders is one of them.  As for the game play, one of the first rooms you will enter will become sealed and inaccessible after some time had passed.

Only if you use the secret passage though, right?   Otherwise it stays open forever?

To be honest, I don't remember.  I haven't played this one seriously in about 30 years ?
