Gateway
I decided to start a new thread so I can include some photos. Please excuse my poor photography skills. This was my first convention and I found it to be very interesting. IMO, the highlight was the guest speakers, though I agree the arcade machine sounds thru the thin walls was distracting while trying to hear them speak. I must have missed Nolan Bushnell's appearance since I left at about noon on Sunday to drive back home here to Utah, a seven hour trip. I got to meet Matt (Tempest), who demonstrated his skills at the arcade Cloak & Dagger Also, CPUWIZ, Cassidy Nollen( sp? ) and his wife Nicole, Jarett ( PackratVG ) and some others who I can't recall at the moment... I got autographs from many of the guest programmers. I didn't get to play much on the arcades since they were always occupied. Was it Tim ( Sniderman ) who hosted Jeapordy? That was entertaining! I came home with boxed copies of: Crossbow, Super Football and Double Dunk. Also, carts of: Fathom, a free copy of Asteroids, Jedi Arena, Smurf( Castle ), Congo Bongo... And Gateway to Apshai for my Colecovision! I also ordered a hombrew from Packrat Video Games. All in all, it was well done show. - Weston [/i] On to the pics:
Tempest
I got to meet Matt (Tempest), who demonstrated his skills at the arcade Cloak & Dagger Haha... Sorry I wasn't much of a conversationalist. I was "In The Zone" when I was playing C&D. Man I love that game. Tempest

Gateway
@ Tempest: It's all good! I learned a lot about that game from watching you play. Though I find it hard to believe you hadn't played in such a long time before CGE, based on how well you did! A few more:
Brad2600
Cool, a dude with a Ramones shirt! Damn. I wish I had a nice car, some bling bling and all the time in the world and then I would have been in Vegas. Someday people. Someday. I'll prove to y'all that I ain't a poseur and that I'm Atari all the way baby! Nice photos, Weston. Glad to see you enjoyed yourself. Speaking of Cloak and Dagger, anyone need it on Betamax tape? Snider-man
<photo of Jeopardy>Yup, that's me all right, all right. We were planning to run a Family Feud game too, but G4 showed up and began taping an episode of Filter there on the CGE floor and in the DP/CGE Services booth. Concerts and special events were postponed while they recorded. And then, after that was over, Nolan began his keynote and there was no way in friggin' hell I was going to miss that. Phosphor Dot Fossils
Kinda disappointed that I didn't get to meet any AtariAge folks - not like I wasn't wearing my Phosphor Dot Fossils name tag. And T-shirt. Hopefully some of you guys will make it to OKGE in September and say hi there! You can find my photos and recap here.
Rick Weis
best thing about meets like this is meeting people in person for the first time like Atarinuts, HHwolfman, and of course CPUWIZ! I had a BLAST! Take care, Rick

Atarinuts
One thing I'd like to see at a show that AA sets up at, is an AA badge that we can put our names on. That way it's easier to meet people from the boards. Matt (Tempest) showed up with his own and we found him right away. There were other AA members there that I wish I could have met, but I guess I'll have to wait till next time. I would like to clear one thing up, there's a pic of me over on the DP site. I was NOT....I repeat NOT just checking out her belly button. I actually bid on and won what she was holding..................it was an inny. MegaManFan
Actually if you'd been to Philly or Austin, you'd know that AA badges for AtariAge members are status quo. Hope to see you at one of the two!
Atarinuts
Cool!! I'm hoping to go to the next Austin show. I should have known that AA would be on top of that.
+-^CrossBow^-
I got my AA badge at last year's CGE. And I didn't even know that I had actually met and talked with CPUWiz briefly. Last year I met him with the rest of the Namco guys when they were showing off Dead to Rites on the Xbox before it was released. This was in the AA suite while Alex and Albert were putting the Thrust+ Boxes together. Joe was doing soldering work...etc. And what was I doing most of the time? Eating pizza...drinking a beer or two...and playing Koffi Yellow Kopter (Latest Build of it at that time...). Then I was introduced to REZ on their PS2 setup there..and later..got to tackle some Dead to Rights on the Xbox. Had I know who CPUWIZ was then...I would have said Yo. As it is...I had no clue...hehe.

+-^CrossBow^-
That would be me in the striped blue and white shirt actually! See, I didn't just dream it all up..hehe And there you are with the Namco shirt on...as you proudly displayed Dead to Rights. Keita and I had quite a few talks during the show. Saturday night after the first night of the event was especially insightfull from talking to him and Marc in the casino downstairs. Good weekend that was... MegaManFan
It just now occurs to me that CPUWIZ kinda looks like a stunt double for one of the Matrix movies. He'd either be the wise sage program who explains the system to Neo, or one of the bad-ass agents hunting him down.
Cassidy Nolen
I am going to get my film developed soon, and I should have some shots of Nolan to add! When he showed up, there was like a ghostly silence around him. No one would talk to him, just point and stare. ... Finally, some of us just walked up and said Hi, got some shots, handshakes and autographs. He is a great speaker, too. Great shots guys. That one of CPUWIZ, Nicole and me; classic!!! Nic looks like she is out of her mind! Good shot of the games, too I agree with Rick; meeting the people you talk to online for the first time is great. HH, Atarinuts, Gateway, and about a billion other people I can't think of off the top. Great fellas, great fun.
