Opportunity to share a desktop background I made once. I forget how many screens it is for the BMX race (30+?), but that wasn't reasonable to do them all and still be able to see any detail, so this is good enough. Enjoy!

Me, playing Spike's Peak, level one:

"What am I doing wrong? The bird kills me in three seconds!" (reads manual) "Oh, now I get it."

Me on level two: "Now what am I doing wrong?" (reads manual some more) "Oh, nothing's wrong, it just plays like that."

Week RTFM amiright? Played MK on cv before but need a refresher. And what a late release for California games, but it really pushes the system graphically. The hackysack level looks and plays pretty good!

Cracked 30k on California games. Am well pleased with that👍, although the big guns will doubtless be along in due course to put me in my place on (literally  😁) that score 😁😁😁

King - 43,280, Peak - 18,500, Games 18,980.  Brutal selection this round.

Someone should make a reversed version of Mountain King based on Fritz Lang's M.  Instead of chasing the sound of "Hall of the Mountain King", it tells you when Peter Lorre is sneaking up on you and you have to run away and escape.

I must say that for Spike's Peak, in addition to your climber extremely difficult to move around, this game includes the worst of the worst when it comes to Atari 2600 sound effects.  The background noise on the second screen reminds me of the sounds I used to hear when I fried cartridges as a kid.  And if the bars below the score run low (which I think means you're close to getting frostbite), the alarm that sounds (for the next several seconds while you wait for your climber to eventually die) is maddening.

Props to @nads for being the first to master this game and roll the score.  I get the impression that once you become consistent passing all three boards, the sky is the limit since the difficulty doesn't increase.

Spot on! once you figure out a strategy the game then becomes fairly easy, however the second screen is still the toughest.

One extra thing I did discover when you hit the Rollage, is that you no longer earn an extra life at every 100k which makes rolling it twice harder.
