awbacon
Between playing it in arcades in the 90's as a kid and then finding a cab at my local laundromat in Brooklyn in my early 20's I feel like I've been playing 1941 in some form or another for well over twenty years...and there is NOTHING wrong with that. It's incredible how well a game that released in 1990 holds up. It's as good as any shmup released today
bubufubu
I first discovered this (PC Engine port) in May of 2015 thanks to a high score contest right here on AtariAge! Nothing beats the arcade version, though. It's, easily, my favorite of the 194x series. I'd love to play it on an original cabinet one day. The only place I know that has one is Galloping Ghosts and they're in Illinois. In case you're interested, here's a run of mine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fvQUlOyoTo0

Keatah
Just play it in MAME. BTW, were there any other games in this "series" besides 1942 and 1943?

It's an update of 1943: The Battle of Midway. 19xx: The War Against Destiny was released in 1995. Though developed by Capcom and, technically, part of the series, it's not one of the classics. It's just too different. There's also 1944: The Loop Master which hit arcades in 2000. It was made by Raizing.
