atari1050
Hey Folks- I need some advice. How important is it to you if the 1050 drive label, on the bottom is missing or damaged? Do you think that would damage its re-sell value, or its collectible value? I've been upset over the fact that I retro-brighted my drives (to get rid of the nasty yellow) and all of the labels were damaged. I really want to re-create the experience of having a new drive, however. Would it make things worse if I scanned the original label and then printed a fresh copy with similar paper? Thanks, Mike
+Nezgar
If you can reprint was printed on the original label, some of the information can be useful for quickly identifying things like production date and location in the future. Ie made in Singapore drives have Tandon mechs, and made in Hong Kong drives have WST mechs. Production date from serial number can be cross referenced with the ROM version in the drive. Not the end of the world if you don't. The ROM, mech, and motherboard usually also have their own production dates imprinted.

Mclaneinc
Most folks buying would be doing so to get a good working drive, the label would only be a must for collectors, any info re the drive is almost all there if you open it up..
