I need to break open my recently landed Rebooted cart and try the updated version but this will get me on the board for now.

Can anybody provide advice on how to succeed? Most of my deaths are stupid, and I just need to play more, but is there any strategy involved other than “don’t screw up”?

This is the first time I’ve been able to get this far.

Am I the only one who constantly dies at the beginning of the game? Most of the time I die less than halfway through the first “level”. If I get past 1000 points I’m almost certainly going to get to 3000.

I doubt I’ll be passing this score soon, took me 50 minutes and finished the loop of levels 3 times.

Is there any trick to maximizing score? Or is it really just not falling?

Collect all the fruit you can get and memorize the patterns of each stage. Keep it cool and be aware of all the surrounding platforms so you won’t have to make split-second decisions.

I didn't realise the levels patterns were the same each time.  That's useful to know.

That’s not really what I meant, I meant to say that it’s a good idea to get to know the levels a bit more. In the case that you need to make a leap of faith, it’s good to know where the platform is most likely to spawn. 
 

This isn’t applicable with every stage however, the first platforms, green pipes and brown platforms don’t seem to have any kind of real consistency that I could notice.

I just realized my TV is cutting off at least an inch of the top of some games. I switch TVs, looks much better now.

I just recently picked up a "new" set and I worked on the geometry in the service menu the best I could. Unfortunately it looks like the cone is turned a little so I need to open it up and adjust it from the inside. I haven't gotten around to doing it yet. I noticed this game emphasizes my CRTs flawed geometry because it utilizes space very close to the overscan area.
