_The Doctor__ Posted July 8, 2021 Share Posted July 8, 2021 (edited) The hum is from the transformer plates and wingdings interacting you can re dip the transformer in super thin lacquer on a day with no humidity and let it dry thoroughly... the noise will reduce or disappear... if there were any bad spots the dip may cover and insulate them. It must be super low viscosity to get into every nook and cranny and then you can spin it by hand or mechanically using the centrifugal force to get all surplus liquid out.
