ATASCII graphics competition

today at 18 european time the results of the compo will be announced, the video is only 6 minutes long so I guess it's worth watching

What a great contest! I wish "Attack of the Giant Bugs" had been the actual title screen for Bug Hunt -- what a great piece!

 

In its own way, "Ataria" is equally impressive as a piece of standalone cubist art. It's quite striking.

My personal favourites were "Attack of the Giant Bugs" and "Croweye".

I had fun making my scannable arts 1-Bit Rick, Make Mine a 99 (a tribute to the KLF and Tammy Wynette), and QR's Revenge (a tribute to Harold Scott Warshaw). Yes, I cheated a bit in the QR code with the diagonal lines, but hey, it still scans!

Good call! Maybe next time. As it was, it was great fun to use a Fujinet with my childhood 130XE in the process. Bonus real Atari screenshots:

Also in case you have, until now, missed it, check out the official menu disk! This ATR with way too many sectors to fit on even a double-density floppy can be found for your downloading pleasure here. Can’t you just hear the tractor-feed printer?
