I'd be curious to look at the games internal scoring method...is that easy to do?

Let's look at the results so far for the 1500

jblenke   3:51.73       888

digress   3:39.26       998

jeff31     3:38.44     1016

jeff31     3:36.16     1020

ed1475  3:35.53      1021   almost 3 seconds faster, from my 1st attempt, for a paltry 5 points!

I really like the game ... except the 1500. That was torture. I remember playing it when it first came out. It's a fun 2 player game too.

I think the 400 is harder.  You must 'toogle' the joystick fast (or your fingers on a keyboard) for the entire race.  On the 1500 you only need to 'toggle' fast from the 1300m mark on.

Yeah, lesson learned...I led most of the 1500 then the other dude suddenly pulled ahead and
I couldn't catch him. I always hated the 1500 (or mile) when I ran it in high school.

And now I run 3:36.38 just .22 seconds SLOWER than my 1020 score but 2.06 seconds FASTER than my 1016...AND I GET 1 POINT!   GAHH!!!

Considering what a workout this was on my arm, this might be my only submission. Who am I kidding, I’ll go back once more I’m sure. Most events are fun, but once I ran the 400, I was in no condition to jump hurdles. Then the dreaded 1500...started off as just a slow endurance test and then boom, left in the computer’s dust.

Just noticed that last part.  LOL.

Same for me.

Ran the 880 in around 2:05 - much to slow for HS so the coach put me in the mile thereafter.  Did get to a PB of 4:41 or so....

Interesting...I usually ran the half mile...hated longer distances (at least in track)...I eventually ran 2:05 and 4:37, but that was in community college. My best in high school was 2:07 and 4:51. Like you, I was too slow for the half mile and didn't have enough endurance for the mile. I broke my leg in 2003 so that pretty much put an end to my running although I was still trying up until about six years ago. I'll have to give Decathlon another go. I gotta beat that guy in the 1500!!!

I burned up a Slik Stik or two playing the 2600 version years back. It is an incredibly fun game, just brutal on the wrists and hands. Never ran track or any sports. But I was active chasing cheerleaders if that is considered "running".
