nebpehtira
Hi all, I believe that there was a compiler/encapsulator for Atari Basic simply called Atari Basic Loader, written by Stefan Meyer. I'm really struggling to find any info on it out there. Does anyone have an image they could share, and ideally any documentation? Thanks! +CharlieChaplin
Well, it is not a compiler, encapsulator would fit better, since it adds a ML-header to the Basic program (and adds some code to page 5 and page 6). Will upload the program later (approx. 11pm), because now I have to go to work... These programs still require Atari Basic then (they are as slow as before), but you can load them like ML files. Disadvantage: You cannot list these files anymore, you may forget that these are Basic files (due to the .COM/.XEX extender), etc.

xxl
you don't need any additional software. write your Basic program under the name START.BAS on a floppy disk, initiate it xBootDOS and copy the extension file (NOTE / POINT / AUTO) - you have everything attached. https://xxl.atari.pl/xbootdos/ http://xxl.atari.pl/download/xBootDOS_initializer.xex http://xxl.atari.pl/download/autorun (make it eg. AUTO.COM) test.atr 1

Alas, when I open the ZIP I'm not seeing any files inside (on a Windows machine) - think the upload might be corrupted? Checked hidden files visible. +CharlieChaplin
Alright, someone was faster than me, it seems. Here are the versions from my current collection... (the same programs as in post 7: Bas2COM by Raster, Bas2Bin and Automatic Basic Loader). Put them on separate disks / images.
