I have a copy of the document "Product 359 BASIC INTERPRETER Design Specification - 30JUN80". In there following documents are referenced that I'd like to look into:

 

• TI Extended BASIC Language Specification (June 30, 1980)
• Product 359 BASIC Subprogram Specification (June 30, 1980)
• Product 359 BASIC Sprite Specification (June 30, 1980)
• Product 359 BASIC Interpreter Expansion RAM Peripheral Support Software Specification (June 30, 1980)
• Product 359 BASIC Language Implementation and Verification Specification (June 30, 1980)
• Home Computer BASIC Language Specification (April 14, 1979)
• Specification of a Texas Instruments Standard for the BASIC Language (June 9, 1978)

 

Does anyone know if these documents are available somewhere?

I scanned the one for the 99/8 and put it up on WHT many years ago. I have a few other random smaller documents for the 99/4 version, but not the ones on your list, IIRC. I will dig into my library and scan any of them that I do find though.

I only know of Revision 2.0 of the Product 359 Basic Interpreter Design Specification from 28th January 1979.

It would mean a lot if you could preserve the more upadted version.

 

One documentd mentioned in the list was preserved by Toucan as part of the CB wilson document donation to him while CB was still alive:

182 pages pdf

 

 

There is also a related preserved document named

"Home Computer Software Development System Programmer's Guide"

from 15th August 1979, revised 6th November 1979.

That one was preserved by Ksarul and was uploaded somewhen on atariage.

I can upload it if it is no longer available on the original location.

 

There is also a document named

"Top Down Operator Precedence" in the Applicable Documents section, which got preserved into The Cyc.

 

We still miss this main internal document:

Does anyone have the ANSI standard yet?

I think I may have downloaded a copy of the ANSI standard at one point. It appears in unaltered form in a MILSPEC document that is online. . .and here it is.

Note this is the short form of the document without the BASIC data. The only one I have right now as the full version is the 1987 version that supersedes this one. . .

 

Note that the Europeans called this the ECMA-55 standard (attached here in the full version). The ANSI and the ECMA standard were both developed in a coordinated fashion so that each would be identical to the other. There was also a NIST Pub that tested conformance to the ANSI standard (also attached).

Thanks very much. After some research i now realize this was preserved 2020 by jbdigriz  

jbdigriz  seems to have many documents on TI XB. Maybe you have some of the applicable documents retroclouds was referring to?
