Tips:

-The coconuts won't hurt you on the first 3 rounds when you are all the way up (in the manual)

-on round 4-9, you can kind of tell if the coconuts are going to fall high, middle, or low. They also seem to usually fall where you're standing. So, you can stand all the way up, the coconuts will fall high- then you can move lower to avoid them.

-If a monkey gets you, the jump button will only work every other time. Make sure it's going to work before jumping the chasm.

-Once on top, you can hug the right wall for points. You can go diagonally up and down for more points.

-Once the victory music starts, you can keep walking for points. However, you'll die if you go up too far. Also, your sprite will glitch if you go down too far and you won't be able to jump for the rest of the game.

-On later levels, the fish move up and down. It looks like they're going under water, but that's the easiest time to jump on them.

20210804_153422.thumb.jpg.793d5a08b1b0df2a1056f1e0677d29df.jpg- There is one scanline where the rhinoceros can't get you and you don't trigger the victory music. Just the bottom of your foot will be on the narrow path. You can walk left or right (carefully) for points.

-The level maxes out at 9.

New score: 403,730

Tips

Thanks for the tips. Great score.  This game requires getting a good technique and consistency.    I get into a good run only to defocus and lose all my lives quickly.   Have not had a chance to get back to the game.  Hopefully later this week.

Same here- fortunately, the timer is generous. When I start losing focus, I'll put my guy in a safe spot and walk away for a few seconds- get a drink, use the toilet, or just stretch my legs. Then I come back refreshed and ready for more punishment lol.

That monkey is evil!

Great score!  I gave it another try today but too many silly errors to get a higher score.   I might give it another try but your score will be significantly difficult to beat.

Of note,  I hear that congo bongo tune as I walk through the hallway at home.  It will take some time to get that out of my head!

No Escape: 6332

This game is definitely not like remembering how to ride a bicycle.  The first couple games felt like I'd never played it before.

I have a busy weekend ahead of me, so I likely won't have much time to try to improve on this until mid-late next week.

No Escape: 156850

I had a couple breakthrough games today.

Once you earn 10k points or so, the bonus points earned at the end of each round increase by a couple orders of magnitude (typically 12-14k points per round).

The difficulty also doesn't seem to change once you get to this point.  I actually felt the game became easier since once I got used to the timing, I didn't have to make strategy adjustments from one round to the next.
