Albert
Greetings! I am looking for common Atari 2600 cartridges to recycle into new AtariAge homebrew games. Because I'm using these cartridges for new homebrew games, donor cartridges must be clean and free from defects. It is very difficult to remove dirt/stains from the textured areas of the cartridges, to say nothing of paint, nail polish, permanent marker, and all manner of other things (like people etching their names into carts!) As I am running a bit low on carts, I will give $2.00 in store credit for 2600 games I can use. I will also cover shipping costs to get the games to me. I will not give store credit for carts that I cannot use -- they must be clean, free from permanent markings, etchings, and any other damage. If you have a sufficient number of common carts that meet my requirements (say, at least 20 to make it worthwhile due to shipping costs), please send me a PM. We are actively working on creating a new cartridge design that will work with 2600 and 7800 games, but it's taking a while to get a design ready. This will save me a lot of time in the future, and I'll no longer need to recycle old games to make new games. And the new shells will be consistent in quality. Greatly looking forward to that day. Thank you! ..Al
+Andrew Davie
Start 3D printing 'em! The PlusCart design is excellent, snap-fit and sturdy. Cheap to make, too....

Injection molding is the way to go. 3D printing is good to test designs, though. ..Al
toiletunes
Last June, I stopped by a shop with a ton of commons buried in a dresser, drawers full. I'll try to drive down there Wednesday and do a bulk purchase. Edited August 16, 2021 by toiletunes

In any case, shoot me a mailing address and I'll send you a 3D shell so you can evaluate the basic design concepts in actual physical form to assist with your own shell design. I believe the design I have is pretty good.

vrocko
I was gonna say I've got some extra Combat carts but only four of them. Wouldn't pay to ship only those four to you. I'll see if I have any more extra's but I think that's all I've got.

OldPAL
I will check my collection. I think I can thin it by 20. Just to be sure, you need standard Atari shells correct? No M-network, Activision, Coleco etc?

I can use Coleco shells as long as they are still their original color and are clean -- it's really difficult to clean those carts, and sometimes they are sun faded and I can't do much about that. Thanks again, ..Al
Albert
Bump! I still need more shells if anyone has any they can trade or sell me. Thanks! ..Al

DaveM
Just saw this thread. Hey Al, if you're still in need of carts, there's a few shops in my part of the world that may be a good source. I could stop by sometime next week on my lunch break and see what they have.

DaveM
Al - I'm at one of the stores, and they have price stickers on the bottom side of the carts. Would these be too tough to remove?

Really? Anyway, that first store had a bunch of cheap, clean ones, so I'll see what I can get.
