What's happened to my DS?

I played my DS today and the upper screen looks damaged.

With that blur... did it get wet?  Looks like it, but that could be the poor quality shot too.  Either way, you maybe looking at a screen replacement.

Getting wet? Maybe but I don't remember how.

I'm confused, that image doesn't look bad like the first one.  Is it the bit of discoloration along the side in the top image a bit down from the S there on the right?  Almost looks like the backlight is starting to dim in places.

I'm back to dampness, some humidity looks like it got in there and did some damage, but also in that, with my second comment seems you're getting uneven backlighting as those 4 spots on the right are brighter than the rest.  That panel, if not the circuitry to get it to work factory correct seems to be suffering.
