The title is very misleading :P

[Not related to the above]

The fractal looking part only shows up on PAL?

I wanted to say to you MrFish, "You're not right, it just seems to pick a random next thing to display, but never chooses the preceding one. You have just had bad luck".

Then I tried it in NTSC and can confirm what you've said. :)

Yeah, I thought that might be what was happening at first too.

Also, it's not even random in PAL (where it works properly): there is an order to what gets displayed.

How much data does each of the 3 sections take up?

8x8 bytes for "wave" fonts (generated)
fractals are drawn on a mini interpreter ;-) with commands turn, step, gosub and return.
- Heighway Dragon: takes 27 bytes
- Hilbert curve: occupies 14 bytes

So, not even 256 bytes?

Nope. the whole takes 256 bytes, most of which is this "interpreter"

the "wave" loop is 25 bytes long
