I’ve decided to buy an Atari VCS… where to start?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

As the title of this post states, I have decided to purchase an Atari VCS. My only question is - where can I buy one?

According to recent articles, The Atari VCS will be headed to retail stores very soon (if it hasn’t shipped already), but I have no idea where to buy one.  My local Gamestop and Walmart seem absolutely clueless about the system. I also noticed that Walmart’s website no longer shows the Atari VCS for sale (the same goes for Amazon here in the US).

It looks like I can purchase one through  Gamestop’s website, but I’ll be honest - I always have problems with my orders  (i.e. wrong product; damaged product; or late deliveries).

So… I hear Best Buy is an option, but the employees stare at me blankly when I ask about the Atari VCS. LOL

What should I do? Suggestions are definitely welcomed!

The console is most easily ordered currently from one of three places: Best Buy, Gamestop, and AtariVCS.com. For in-person options the only current and likely future option is Micro Center. I'd probably order it direct from Atari unless you can take advantage of a discount program or something.

I got mine off Ebay. I think I'd buy it from Atari though since you have that option. If they come back with a delay in shipping for whatever reason I'd go to Ebay or Best Buy.
