IMBerzerk
Take a closer look at the plastic quality. There is no grain to it and what grain it has is definitely dirty from casting sand. It's choppy and rough cut at spots like the cartridge port. This has all been recast from a mold and hand-drilled either with a bench, or hand-held. You can see the tool marks in the plastic from drilling, and the slightly uneven drill patterns in the front and underneath breather holes. The bottom pan looks a lot deeper as well from what I can see in the side pictures. Maybe this was some kind of research project to maybe reverse engineer the unit? This is definitely not a store/factory born unit. It's too rough with all the changes that went into it. I agree. The original 2609 style unit, unlike the Sears style, does not have enough passive cooling to do anything.
