Texas Chainsaw Massacre destroyed :(

Recommended Posts

I was reading a few Atari 2600 reviews at GameFAQs and found this one that really made me cringe http://gamefaqs.com/console/a2600/review/R51606.html. I'm used to some of the reviews being like "I tried this on an emulator for 5 minutes and it sucks. The graphics and sound are crappy compared to games we have now."

Here's the closing paragraph

If you see this game at somewhere like a flea market or a yard sale, please either put it down and walk or run away from it, or buy the game (for a low price) and mutilate the cartridge in your own creative way, just like I did! If the game really, truly appeals to you and your favorite genres, pick it up. I still have a strong doubt that you would like it, but I cannot speak for everyone. The only group I can really push this game for is people who own an Atari 2600 (the numbers are becoming more and more limited as the system ages) and are fans of the movie “Texas Chainsaw Massacre”.

yikes

Education does wonders for some people. If this cat had a great appreciation for the history of these games he may sing a different tune.

I was watching Freddy vs. Jason yesterday and in the promos it seems that there is going to be a remake of the movie "Texas Chainsaw Massacre".

I'm sure the 16 year old pimply faced kid that wrote this review, apprently has never heard of AtariAge or the kind folks at DigitalPress as well as plenty of other Atari communities/sites. I wouldn't agree tha the numbers of 2600 owners are shrinking. Actually, it seems as if more and more young 'uns are starting to embrace Atari.

So who gives a fuck what a NES fanboy says? I'd much rather destroy a non-working NES system than a cart of TCM.
