Atari ST Visual Timeline

Recommended Posts

It looks great so far. We I check it out, it ends at the end of May 1985, but I see you say you're working on it, so I'm assuming it will continue as you add more content. Keep up the great work!

Nice!  Finally there's a proper timeline of Tramiel's Atari Corp and with links to sources.  This is gonna help out with research...

Very nice!

Is it a database behind the site or static HTML/JSON/TXT content?

I do believe that you already know but: https://mcurrent.name/atarihistory/tramel_technology.html have great timeline data.

btw

why slides are groups in three? (when you click on some date, popup will open with details and you can use arrow keys, or mouse, to scroll to next date/slide but only in groups of three...)

So far I have the timeline in draft mode until the end of 1986, pending to be adapted and published. My intention is to keep up with the research and expand the timeline up to the end of Atari Corp’s life.

The site is based on a very customized Wordpress template. So, yes, it uses databases. But all the the content is updated manually, entry by entry, in a similar way you publish posts in a WP site.

Marty Goldberg pointed me also to this site yesterday on Facebook. As I told him, Michael Current’s work was the starting point for this project. I cite many of the sources that he points to on his site. Michael Current made a priceless research to create those timelines.

This decision was made to optimize the loading time. I have to find a better way, allowing a progressive loading without leaving the lightbox (pop-up) mode. The design is still in progress :)
