jstrotha0975
Long time lurker, first time poster. I'm having a difficult time getting microswitch controllers to work properly on Stella on my PC. An original 2600 analog controller works fine but I hate the feel of it so I bought a custon arcade joystick on Ebay for $37. The down button doesn't work. So I bought a Retro-bit Atari controller on Ebay for $14 and the left button doesn't work correctly. I've mapped both numerous times. I took the retro-bit controller apart and it didn't look like it had microswitches but it feels like it. I'm using a 2600dapter. Do microswitch controllers just not work with Stella? mr_me
A switch is a switch. Original Atari joysticks aren't analog, they have switches too. Use a continuity test to check that the switches are working and pin compatible with Atari.

Stella just sees the PC USB joystick - it does not interface directly to the controller hardware. Sounds like it the micro-switches are not making good contact, so the D9 is not reliably detecting when they are on.
