I use SDCC under Windows as both C compiler and assembler, and BlueMSX, Colem, or Classic99 as my emulator (Classic99 isn't complete enough to be my sole tool yet ;) ).

I use Sublime text editor, GitKraken for source control, TNIASM, and BlueMSX with it's inbuilt debugger on a Windows machine.

And of course my Sprite and Tile Editor ;)

I use SDCC on Debian GNU/Linux. The text editor gedit with C syntax highlighting to write programs, make for the build. For the Emulator, I use mostly MAME (convenient to start automatically from a Makefile target), sometimes MEKA (when I need the integrated debugger).

Anyone using a Mac as their development platform?

I don't know of any. But there are SDCC users on Mac targeting other systems, so it should work.

I use SDCC with Visual Studio Code and makefiles. I use the MAME debugger for debugging and testing and EPROM or tape emulators for testing on actual hardware.
