TGB1718 Posted September 18, 2021 Share Posted September 18, 2021 Is this a removable hard drive or do you mean a floppy drive ? If it's a removable hard drive, when powered up and a disk inserted, it should run up and initialize, If it's a fixed hard drive, again when powered up it should spin up and initialize. If it's a floppy, then I'm afraid nothing happens except if you have a floppy disk to insert, even when disconnected, inserting a disk causes the motor to spin for a second which you may be able to hear or open the case and look as the motor when disk is inserted.
