Maybe leading to the awards results, there could be @Papa Pete videos discussing the categories and some of the nominees? That would be fantastic I was also wondering if anyone would be interested in offering anything to the winners. You know, nothing extravagant. Could be something real simple, and only focused on the 2 GOTY winners (physical and digital). Maybe @Kamikazi26, @Rev, @Games For Your Intellivision, @retroillucid or anyone else would have any ideas? Zendocon
I guess I'll have to. Livestreams are only posted for two months. Meanwhile, it's on my website.

Your website is fine, my google-fu just failed for some reason.. I didn't realize it was a tutorvision app and wasn't looking for the right thing
Zendocon
Yeah, I took some time last year to catch up on what I missed in previous years. That's when I found the TutorVision had been reverse engineered and was supported by jzIntv. I got ahold of the two released ROMs and the TV EXEC and GROM files, and I right away thought of something that would fit well into the TV library. I've been doing livestreams on Twitch, and so what I might do is livestream it again. Perhaps later today.

I don't see Klax in the 2019 or 2020 polls, of which the later was interrupted and restarted to add Maria: https://atariage.com/forums/topic/315866-goty-2020-restarted-resend-your-vote/ https://atariage.com/forums/topic/300285-intellivision-goty-2019/ Basically I understand that it is a mess to keep track of which Intellivision games were released when, and every year there is a several week long discussion about which games even exist or not. Yet there are several sites and lists claiming to keep track of this information, but still somehow seem to miss it. My suggestion would be to go through a list of all games released since 2019 until today, then cross reference with the GOTY from 2019 and 2020 to remove titles that already were part of a poll, and in case there are games that were missed out in previous polls, add those with this one as a catch-up. I made a typo. Klax was reviewed in 2021, not 2020. It did not get a serious release in digital nor physical format so should not be considered for 2021 in my opinion.
carlsson
Aha, so it doesn't yet exist and would have to wait until GOTY 2022. Then it makes sense.
+cmadruga
Quick updates: - I sent a message to Albert about creating the new sub forum for the polls. He has not seen the message yet, but I’m hopeful he will be supportive. - Heard back from Papa Pete, and he is on board about supporting the “event”! More to come!

So the idea would be to have something like: Best Artwork for a physical release (box art + overlay + manual) Anyone else want to chime in? mthompson
Include a Best Artwork category if you want, but the box art is often not used on the overlay, and it's not a major part of a manual.

Good point. Thinking about it, putting together a good manual also goes beyond just the "art" component, right? And definitely designing a good overlay goes beyond just the visual, there is a functional aspect to it.
carlsson
Best packaging, then?

That was my thinking to keep it simple, but if people want to vote on components in multiple categories, I'm fine with that too. Just spitballing. +cmadruga
"Packaging" may indeed be a little more encompassing. Overall, we would go from 1 poll to 5. Feels like a significant change. Maybe we could stick with these categories for this year, then? Check out below how categories and nominees would look like. I was thinking about Little Man Computer, and thought it could also be included under the "port" category, as reflected below. After all, it already existed in other platforms. What do you think, @Zendocon? Also another update: heard back from Albert, he's cool about creating the subforum! Coming soon! Zendocon
"Port" should be fine, as it is a simulator of a theoretical computer. I never created box art, just overlays and documentation.
Sinjinhawke
Probably overkill but other optional recognitions could be Best Original Game, Best Music, Most Anticipated Release and best use of a blue pony.

Indeed, since there is already a category for graphics, then not having one for music and sound (perhaps together for simplicity) would sure look like an obvious oversight. Good catch. As for the other ones, maybe could work as future upgrades, depending on how this year's vote goes? +cmadruga
Here is a document I put together, describing general guidelines of the award. Similar to what is available for the Atari folks, but somewhat simpler. I thought about making this available as a reference for the future. I'm planning on uploading it to the new subforum. If anyone would be interested in reading it and providing feedback, please let me know.
