Synassembler and SpartaDOS

Recommended Posts

Hello, I'm having this problem both in emulator and real Atari (Rambo 320 and U1M respectively)

I can boot syn assembler with X or X /C

but I cannot save the binary or the code after I assemble.

Do I need to change my CONFIG.SYS ?, I'm using the one in SIDE2

I'm not sure, but the SpartaDOS X manual lists error 150 as "150  Sparta:  Directory  not  found"

Maybe try variations like

D1:STACK.ASM

1:STACK.ASM

D1:>STACK.ASM

1:STACK.ASM

Or other devices like E: P: C :

No end " might help in spartados.

So "D:FILE.DAT

Not sure whether that was it... but I remember the issue.

The "Image" in the first post is not visible (at least for me). So I am not sure what version of SDX is this.

There was a problem with pathname end detection before, but it should be fixed as of 4.49e. Generally the problem is that path and file names should be EOL-terminated, but many programs neglect the termination, assuming that the DOS will be magically able to detect the end of a file name, no matter what binary garbage follows. Before 4.49e this magic sometimes led the DOS to believe that what follows is a path separator, and (consequently) that the file name given is a directory name. Thus error 150 "Path not found".

As I said, the magic should get improved as of 4.49e. If it still fails, a test case would be most appreciated.
