+kisrael #2 Posted August 22, 2003 Atari 2600 had a nice elegance and grace about it...and was the basis for many other systems (from C=64 and Colecovision, all the way to Genesis) It's been years since I've touched the SMS controller, but it looks kinda like a NES knockoff. 2600 all the way. Trooper #3 Posted August 22, 2003 Well, I'm gonna have to go with Atari here. The SMS pad is good too, it's just not very accurate. So.....Atari. /Troop

+kisrael #6 Posted August 22, 2003 Atari 2600 A prediction.. final match comes down to the Dreamcast vs the Jaguar Pro. Heh...it's a lot easier to make final round predictions this late in the game... Agree with the DC prediction, but I don't think the Jag has that much strength. People seem to really LIKE the Saturn pad (as opposed to the Jag, which seemed to be competent, useful for games like Doom, and getting going up against a loved but mostly hated controller in the first round) and the 2600 has a comfort and nostalgia factor. That said, I'm probably so popular here I can make self-defeating prophecy :-P :-)
holy_fluck #7 Posted August 22, 2003 Are you guys serious?? I definatly like the SMS controller more and think it should get out of this round
PuddWakkr #9 Posted August 22, 2003 I'll take the 2600.
Ze_ro #10 Posted August 22, 2003 Gotta love the simplicity of the Atari controller. The SMS pad is kind of annoying with it's small, rectangular design, and it's big square pad. Atari 2600 --Zero
ApolloBoy #11 Posted August 22, 2003 Both are good, but the SMS pad is a bit small. The 2600 joystick is great, and it actually doesn't cramp my hands up. I'm going with the 2600 on this one.
liveinabin #12 Posted August 22, 2003 From a design sense, the SMS controller is SO 'undesigned'. It's just all the requisite keys stuck on a little slab - the 2600 controller at least has some style to it, particularly the (pictured) orange-trim model. With it's big stick and cheery colored fire button it is really saying 'arcade at home' and making it a desirable object to it's late 70s/early 80s kids market. Form following function perfectly. My vote: Atari 2600
