Keatah
Alternate ideas on how to control this game? It seems to want a custom trackball of some sort. Maybe one of those old Wico ones or something. ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/images/games/action/Gyroscope_f1.dsk ftp://ftp.apple.asimov.net/pub/apple_II/images/games/action/Gyroscope_f2.dsk
magnusfalkirk
Downloaded both dsk images. Booted the first one. Not sure how to control it. It looks a lot like Marble Madness.
hwrd
Just took a peek, and Gyroscope was available on several platforms, from a fairly prolific publisher, Melbourne House. I am going to try out some other versions to see if I can get those to run, that may clue me into the Apple II version.
hwrd
Joystick and arrow keys both worked on the Commodore 64 version, using original hardware. I expect the Apple II version at least uses the keyboard somehow.
Keatah
Does it?
magnusfalkirk
At least on Virtual II neither of those options work. In fact, as I'm sure Keetah discovered, when you press P for play the next screen that comes up asks for the slot for the trackball.
