Ti-99/4s showing static

I have this beige TI-99/4a and when I have it plugged in and I turn on it shows static.

I have a 5 pin din to RCA adapter and a RF modulator but the forks are ripped off and the on led won't light up. I don't know if the 5 pin din adapter is doing this or the computer. But the seller I bought it from said they connected it to a tv.

Im sorry if I made this unclear im using a adapter that uses red, white, yellow cables and no I cannot use the modulator.

Ah, I was unclear on that.  IIRC that LED does not illuminate unless there is a protection problem, which I have no idea what that means.

I thought you said the adapter had red white and yellow?

Try the red lead in the video port on the tv, white in the audio.

Have you tried in both "in-1" and "in-2" sets of hook ups?

I don't have a yellow lead on the adapter or the tv. The tv has white and black instead of red, yellow and white. 16336384579088469839308256525916.thumb.jpg.bd1aa380725ebdee769f17b0b3e3ad6d.jpg

Whoops, sorry.  Posted that before I thought.  I actually sent that out, already... it's an NES RF that I have left.

I have a case of them, happy to send you 14 for the price of shipping.

they are crap btw..

use a composite cable to the video in on your monitor. (black plug) check both your cable plugs with it till you find video if you can't meter the plug yourself
