Nukey Shay #2 Posted April 7, 2002 Possibly for completely inexperienced Basic users. That book barely touches advanced Basic programming techniques. For complete newbies I recommend the Wacko guides from Addison-Wesley...the program examples in the Games book can be found here. (including the excellent game Myrtle The Turtle). Game instructions: Fertile Myrtle has 99 seconds to lay her eggs in the corner nests, and then fertilize them once they are all filled. The purple aomeba will seek out and kill Myrtle and her eggs if it touches them. There is a warp zone that jumps from place to place, and by touching it you are able jump to a nest instantly by holding the joystick in the nest direction. Once the timer expires, the fertilized eggs hatch. You need at least one to pass to the next higher level. For experienced programmers, try Compute! and Antic books.
