ti99iuc #2 Posted October 20, 2021 Hello Humeur, If this can help, I have seen the cable in this picture from Bill Gaskill. while in this demonstration video, I learned that the cable was for the joystick port of the TI99 I would like to find a cable too or also build one if someone has the schematics.
+9640News #3 Posted October 20, 2021 I have one laying around somewhere, and I thought I remember reversing pins 2 and 3 so I could connect it to a Windows PC COM port to configure it with newer software. Beery
+Ksarul #4 Posted October 21, 2021 I actually borrowed that cable from Bill Gaskill many years ago to determine the pinout so that I could build my own cable for it. I will have to look in my notes for the details and post them here--but after the Faire, as I am still preparing things to go on the road tomorrow. 3
humeur #5 Posted October 21, 2021 I saw on the video that the joystick port was only to use no external power supply, compared to the assembly to emulate an rs232 on this port. There must be some component in the joystick socket. And an ohmeter check won't be enough from my point of view Thank you for your answers. Ps For Berry The cp 290 is the same for PC or TI and Commodore. I must have a more modern software but in French the whole thing is that I find it. Worked under Windows98

If it does not hardware-bang and uses Windows APIs for accessing the serial port, there is a good chance it will work. Worst case, you load and older version of Windows on a dedicated or dual-boot machine, or run in VirtualBox.

When I find the French CD I would do the test, on the other hand the management of the rs232 port to be changed from XP. Here is a picture of the content for pc or mac and the french version
