Fierodoug5
I am in need of a 90 degree expansion port(cartridge) adaptor for a C64, and am having no luck finding one in the USA. Anyone sell them, or is there a open source project for one I can make myself that I am missing? Thanx for any leads

Anyone sell them, or is there a open source project for one I can make myself that I am missing? Thanx for any leadsShould be easy and cheap to create one. A connector like this one should work for the upright slot:https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/edac-inc/395-044-520-202/107771Except for that you might want a reset button because why not. Maybe a decoupling capacitor and definitely some feet/standoffs to make the adapter rest against the table. I don't know if the height differs between the computers like c64©/c128(d).The PCB itself would be very simple to design for anyone that can do those things. It takes a little bit of work if you don't already have the PCB footprints for the connectors.I can design an open source PCB if no one else comes up with a US source for an adapter which would definitely be a lot faster for you.
Fierodoug5
I thought about just designing my own pcb, but like you said, I don't have the connector footprints. As far as I can tell, there is no US source for these and I found no open source projects for one.

motrucker
Jim Brain already makes the best cartridge X Pander in the U.S.: https://store.go4retro.com/x-pander-3-slot-cartridge-port-expander/ Great product, excellent price.

hofster
I want a single port[emoji41]I made a single port design for the OP but it's not tested yet. You can have it now if you're feeling adventurous and want to order some PCBs.Skickat från min SM-G996B via Tapatalk

Same with me, my problem is my desk is kinda tight, so I don;t have much room between the C64 and the monitor. I should have Hofster's board in hand in just a few more days and will get it put together and tested.
bjonte
I haven’t seen any expander that can run with any pair of cartridges (address space not colliding) without problems. Is there a solution for this?
hofster
Fierodoug5 has tested the adapter/relocator/whatever and it's apparently working fine. In case anyone wants one, here are the schematics and gerbers needed for ordering PCBs: https://github.com/RetroNynjah/C64-Cartridge-Relocator
R.Cade
You can get them cheap at restore-store.de and shipping is very reasonable.

R.Cade
It wasn't more than $5 USD for shipping as I recall. They just had some the other day.

Fierodoug5
I made a case for Hofster's 90 degree cartridge adaptor PCB and uploaded it to Thingiverse https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5159147
