What's your "daily driver"?

I have a few Atari's by now. I have a modded Vader, a 4-switch woody and a recapped 6-switch. I've got two 7800's, too. The one that I keep going back to is the 6-switch. I find it has the best picture quality and I like having the difficulty switches on the front of the console. What's your go to Atari for everyday use? Are you a 6-switcher, too? Share your favorites!

My 7800 is my daily driver for 2600 and 7800 games. I haven't used any of my actual 2600s to play 2600 games in probably 10 years?

I've got to fix up my 7800's. One has a loose RF jack and the other needs a new 2600 chip. It glitches on 2600 games.

I have a Heavy Sixer, Light Sixer, two 4-switch Woodies and a Vader. My "daily driver" is either my UAV-modded 4-switch Woody, or more often my UAV-modded 7800.

Until recently a light sixer, but now a Retron77 with the Stella community build.

4-switchers seem to be getting a lot of love. Any reason? Is it the system that most people had in their youth?

Atari 7800 from my teens.  Still has the reset and select button caps swapped because Curious George decided it was a good idea to take the whole thing apart and put it back together again.

 

It's sitting next to FPGA and emulation boxes but I automatically gravitate toward it.

I like it pure and un-modified - so my mainly used Atari is my light 6-switch (great picture on CRT - prior to my 4-switch). Looking for heavy 6-switch but difficult to get as a PAL machine 😕

Light six, which I got for my birthday in 1980 gets used the most. I also rotate in 2 heavy sixers now and then.  Also have a 4 switch woody but don't really use it.

I hear ya!  I have one of each type of 2600 in my collection.  I only have a couple modded consoles, but the heavy's are and will always remain un-modified.

I think its because there are so many available.  I purchased mine back in 2001.  It was my 1st Atari console.

I have a light sixer I've had since I was a kid and it's been modded for component output, so that is my favorite.

I've been using the At Games handheld most of the time these days (waiting for food to cook, or my wife to be ready for something, usually), but still use my trusty 7800 at my desk when desiring a more authentic experience, or when playing a paddle game.

I have several other options, but really never use them; I'm pretty sure most of those will eventually be turned loose on the world, probably shortly before the next time I move.

NT mini Noir is my daily driver. I have it hooked up to a Trinitron via Component and Z680s for sound. I own a UAV modded 7800 and composite modded Sears Heavy as well, but I prefer having many consoles at my fingertips instead of a couple.

I have a modded vader as my daily driver! Honestly, I'd prefer a six-switch machine because not being able to see the a/b status is annoying. But this box has been a trooper!
