Bill Lange
A few months ago, David (BASIC Computer Games) Ahl, lent me a horde of early (late 60s, early 70s) Digital Equipment Corporation documents that I've been slowly scanning and archiving here. Ahl worked at DEC until he left to start Creative Computing magazine. For fun, I took one of the DEC BASIC documents and created an Atari Microsoft BASIC II version from it. See attached .pdf file. Disk image is on github. Steve Boswell did the cover art. BASIC Application Programs - Mathematics I - 0.211.118.0.pdf 11
rkindig
Very cool, Bill! Not much has ever been done with MS BASIC II. Randy
+hloberg
Atari Microsoft BASIC, I think, was a very under-rated BASIC. I actually wrote 3 games, so far, in the language: Awari-MSB.ATR MilleBorne-MSB.atr Uno+MSB.ATR
Bill Lange
Quote I actually wrote 3 games, so far, in the language: I'll take a look at this tomorrow. I've always like playing Mille Borne. "coup-fourré" is used often in family discussions! 1
+hloberg
forgot to mention games auto boot load with MSv1 so don't use the MS2 cart. I also have ported over these programs to other 8-bit BASICs on other machines and Atari MS BASIC is one of the few I have to put delay loops to slow it down because the games run too fast. Bill Lange
The computer plays a pretty good hand of Mille Borne. It's fast enough considering it is in BASIC. Thanks for sharing.
