Some words about TT-DOS and RAF Commander 2000

Hello friends!

Some times ago I found this xex file TT-DOS-1.2+ somewhere in inet.

While loading it shows that it's the Cart version of DOS.
I know that there is the atr version of TT-DOS-1.5 also...

And some questions arises at once.

1. Is there a manual for these DOSes?
2. Is there some utilities to convert xex to car?

Also I'd like to ask another question.
Is there a manual for RAF Commander 2000?
Google says only about Royal Air Forces. AI, uf you understand...

Your suggestions will be highly appreciated.

Well,

RAF = Regionalgruppe Abbuc Frankfurt (regional Abbuc group, situated in Frankfurt/Main in Germany). Since every regional group of Abbuc has a name, we made several suggestions for them like FAR, ARF, RAF and others. You should also know that RAF is not only an abbreviation for Royal Air Force, here in Germany everyone knows the other abbreviation (used by terrorists) as Rote Armee Fraktion.  At the time they were searching for a name there was also a regional group named SWAT (South-West Atari Team, in the south-west of Germany, I was a member of that regional group). Because of that, they chose the name RAF and nowadays they are well-known for some of their A8 hardware like SIO2USB...

While I do not have a manual or any kind of background information for TT-DOS, I do have TT-DOS 1.5 on an ATR image, together with Turbo Basic XL V2.1. Think this DOS was made for use with some turbo tape systems in Poland or Czechoslovakia.

Hi, Andreas. You are unbelievably helpful as usual.

Many thanks!

Here in Moscow FAFs named as Rote Brigaden. :)

That was very levelheaded world:

Mussolini - Lenin

Hitler - Stalin

USA - USSR

NATO - Warsaw Pact

etc

Now all of them called Terrorist-Separatist and noone want to close all banks to eliminate them momentarily.

Hello dear ALL!

I'm stil playing with TT-DOS and here are some suggestions...

Looking on initial DOS menu we can see that it understands extended memory above 130XE, that system drive is D1:, that Tape Mode set to SS and Tape speed to 12 ???

Then we find that Left panel and some part of rightone dedicated to DOS operations (even 'Write bootfile' means 'Save TT-DOS.SYS to disk).

Esc brings us to Tape DIR (What does it mean?)

J option bring us to configuration menu:

SELECT DRIVE Nr.1
A=FLOPPY
B=RAMDISK 1
C=RAMDISK 2

Can not recognize what's thease all about...

I can NOT certainly understand what is 'Change speed' (May be they have in view some differences between Turbo system speeds ...)

Then using options 'O' we can find (SS,SD,LS,LD) sequence.
My supposition is (Save Single,Save Double,Load Single,Load Double) - differences between Disks Densities...

And at last Turbo load.

Seems like TT-DOS is Disk based Turbo-Tape Operation System

If you look during the boot, it says it's a Cartridge version, so someone has converted this to run from

DOS as an XEX, it seems to have a lot of bugs, but that may be that it's having some conflict with

the DOS it's running from, may be better to extract the actual file (A000 to BFFF) and  install as a .car or .rom file and see if it performs any better.

Select Output Device
Screen, Printer, Disk, Memory
Segment  1: Load:0600 End:061B Size:001B
Segment  2: Load:0100 End:011B Size:001B
Segment  3: Load:02E0 End:02E1 Run:0600
Segment  4: Load:A000 End:BFFF Size:1FFF
