HSC19 (2022) R1: DONKEY KONG

Recommended Posts

If she gets to watch a few screens before so she gets an idea what to do, it might help. In my case I haven't yet got past level 3-2 but one day I will.

No luck on the kid front but a great new score for me:  134700

My first time to L5!  Hit stupid fireball on ledge above where I was jumping.  I hate that.

Donkey Kong: 88,600

Some improvement in level 4.  Seem to get my best score on the first or second try in a play session then go down hill.  Maybe need to try playing every couple hours 1 game!

Your son did some very fast progress, from 2700 via 8100 to 18500. Soon he'll catch up on me (and you).

Yes. His first try: it's too hard game for me. Last ones is impressive (for his age) result...

I'd assume I had access to one or both versions of Donkey Kong on the C64 as a teenager, but I never wrote down a personal best on that game. Probably I didn't find it very enjoyable and preferred a hundred other games. Thus I can't compare my 40++ year self with my 15 year self on this particular game. For many other entries though, I'd say nowadays I'm nowhere near my (still mediocre) PB:s set as a 14 year old.

42900 pts (level 3-3) which equals a new personal best and for the first time I cleared 3-2 and was extremely close to clearing 3-3.

At least I'm fending off most 10 year olds by this score.

From what I gather, currently the average top score is 71767 pts counting all 18 (including Sikor's son) participants, compared to the median score of 55550 pts. If McKong's "get all items" score is used instead, the average is 63278 pts which still is over the median.

I've been limiting myself to playing one complete game...which takes me quite a long time because I restart if I don't make it to level 3 before losing a life.  Very frustrating (but fun) game!

Figured i'd give it a go on this old thing too, but it didn't turn out well after one attempt.

New season, new players. I entered the description on atarionline.pl

Hej. Zostałem poproszony o reklamę kolejnego sezonu High Score Club na atariage.com Główny prowadzący therealbountybob zaprasza wszystkich - oryginalny sprzęt oraz emulatory.

https://atariage.com/forums/forum/60-8-bit-high-score-club/

Zabawa jest przednia. Nawet jak nie masz czasu pilnować całej rozgrywki, to warto choć raz zagrać w tytuł, na który zagłosują forumwicze. Wiem, że kilka osób z Polski z atarionline zagląda na forum.
