Ze_ro #2 Posted September 2, 2003 I never got too into Shenmue... much too monotonous to me... but it's sad to see it peter out after only two games (especially considering that the intention was for the story to last 16 (!!) games). Unfortunately, internet petitions don't exactly have the best track record --Zero

Jasoco #8 Posted September 2, 2003 Yay! Though, I only have Shenmue 1. Isn't 2 on the PS2 or something? Or am I wrong?
Zach #9 Posted September 2, 2003 This news is awesome! Shenmue 3 just might be the game that motivates me to get an Xbox! For those who have finished Shenmue 2, has anyone else wondered about Lishao Tao's brother? I believe that he was introduced very early in the story, and his name is Lan Di. Hopefully the next chapters will reveal more.
Ze_ro #10 Posted September 2, 2003 Yay! Though, I only have Shenmue 1. Isn't 2 on the PS2 or something? Or am I wrong? Shenmue 2 is available only on the X-Box in North America... there's also a Dreamcast version that was released in Japan and Europe, but Sega was paid not to release it in North America so that the X-Box version would get more popularity. Edit: I should probably mention that the European version has english subtitles (but only japanese speech), so it's import-friendly. --Zero
DeV0 #11 Posted September 2, 2003 Shenmue is an awesome game for the dc, I havent played 2 yet. But if its as good as the original id be happy for a three. I got a demo cd of shenmue with vf4 and my Japanese dc, I didnt understand anything at the time but was hyped pre release, Awesome game
liveinabin #12 Posted September 2, 2003 Yeah, Shenmue was great. Shenmue 2 wasn't quite as great. What I want from Yu Suzuki is a rock solid answer as to how many parts there will be to this. There's no way I'm paying full price for another installment where I just move from one place to another and NOTHING HAPPENS. Don't get me wrong, the Shenmue idea is great but we need to know where the hell this is all going. I don't need to buy a game to experience a crummy job. JagWarlord #13 Posted September 2, 2003 Just wanted to say that Shenmue 2 for the dreamcast is alot better than the Xbox version. Did anyone noticed how blurry the fight sceens were in the xbox version?and the red trees look like crap also. The dreamcast version has brighter colors and plays alot better. Lets hope that Shenmue 3 turns out better.
liveinabin #14 Posted September 2, 2003 I had the DC version, I got as far as carrying those stacks of books. After half an hour I began to think - 'hang on, I'm carrying BOOKS!'. That was the natural conclusion of the Shenmue series for me:) "I'm sorry, I've been too tired lately, ask someone else"
