question about tosec named menu disks

Recommended Posts

Downloaded a whole group of menu disks for the ST off of a newsgroup. Anyways. I've noticed that alot of them have like two or three different versions of each.

It usually goes something like..

Automation Menu Disk 004 (19xx)(LSD - Was -Not Was-)

Automation Menu Disk 004 (19xx)(LSD - Was -Not Was-)[a]

Automation Menu Disk 004 (19xx)(LSD - Was -Not Was-)[m LGD]

ok so my question is. What is the difference? I know [a] stands for alternate. But in what way?

If I had to pick from the three, which would be the best to use?

This scenario came up when I decided to get a GP32 and run the ST emulator for it. I obviously only have so much space available on a flash card.

Sorry, can't help you there.. all i suspect is that LGD is from Little Green Desktop. If you don't get a satisfying answer here i suggest you try it on www.atari-forum.com when it is up and running again. Some people there know a lot about those menu's being very serious collecters or even the creators of them.

ok that answers everything except for the LDG remark. I'll have to examine them more closely when I load them.

Hmm kinda cheap if it don't have any added value. (referring to the LGD) disks.

It's confusing enough keeping track of what is out there.

Programs like tosec and the good tools are both a blessing and a curse. They make things more identifiable but also sorting thru the worthwhile stuff and the rest can be a real headache.
