MYARC MPES/50 - Mini Periphal Expansion System (DS/DD-PEB)

The disk manager for the WDS-100 (yes, @Schmitzi, the Personality Card) is probably the craziest kludge of a disk manager ever written for the TI. It was an Extended BASIC program with embedded Assembly routines. If more of them had been sold, later disk managers might have supported the WDS-100, but the price was just too steep for it to get any kind of market penetration. I think that was one of the reasons Myarc regrouped and developed the HFDC.

I wrote a little program, QUICKDIR which could catalog WDS1 and browse directories, from BASIC or XB. For the task, it was much easier to run than the whole Myarc WDS manager.

It was printed in MicroPendium in 1986.

The WDS was part of a TI donation to our Boy Scout troop (didn’t hurt that all the Scoutmasters worked at TI.) I think when they closed the West Building. I wound up with it later. Jerry Coffey had it last.
