Rugar
Since my unfortunate Goldstar doesn't read copies i planed to buy japanese version FZ10. From the visual side, it's the model I like the most. Can i play my backups with japanese version and whether there is any restriction for the regions? Is it a good choice? As long as you use good quality CD-Rs and burn them at an appropriate rate (which varies by disc, newer ones do better at higher speeds) and the drive is in good shape, a Japanese FZ-10 should be able to play any Japanese and North American game. Some PAL games won't work on an NTSC system, but the only one I know for certain is Wolfenstein 3D.
Rugar
Thanks! Good to know that japanese FZ10 console reads backups without problems. I already have some very old supplies of high quality JVC Taiyo Yuden and Verbatim Metal Azo CD-R, and my writer supports 4X speed. Then I will take the Japanese FZ10 beacuse it's cheaper than the others models.
Austin
Yes I picked up a FZ-10 for this reason as well. They read CDr media pretty well, even the cheaper kind. I would still recommend the best discs possible.
Rugar
I just ordered a console. What about recapp? Does it belong to the group of consoles that need to be recapped for prevention?
Austin
It certainly won't hurt to open it up and check the caps, but I don't generally hear of FZ-10 units having the same cap problems as FZ-1 models. Don't quote me on that though, haha.
