A Question for American/Canadian Collectors

Do you guys collect PAL exclusive games? As an Australian in PAL territory i collect NTSC games as there are so many more NTSC exclusive games. The only problem with this is that the majority of the NTSC exclusive games are very uncommon. Which means when they come up on eBay over there i have no hope of winning as i have to factor in high postage costs on my bid.

I am not actively collecting anymore, but I agree with @BONEMAN that PAL games are VERY rare here in Canada.

Indeed, since the late-1980s, I only ever encountered one PAL title, and that was for the original PlayStation; it was some sports game. I also once saw a Megadrive console that I believe was PAL format.

I have encountered more imported Japanese games (for the Famicom and PS 2) than PAL games.

I do have a "Zellers" game in my collection that is an NTSC-format bootleg of an original PAL game. These were widely sold at retail here in Canada.

I had a decent collection of NTSC games, but due to space issues, I decided it was better to have a Harmony Encore cart. now I have almost all the games I want. I don't usually download PAL games. There have been a couple that were converted to NTSC that I have, but that's it. I do however collect controllers. I have over 20 working joysticks at the moment... I should really get rid of a few.

I don't have any PAL games on cartridges.  I do play some of the PAL games on my Retron77 emulator though. The original hardware is great but personally, I'm having trouble keeping mine working. It worked fantastically from 1981 until about 1999, then I started having trouble with it overheating and needing taken apart and cleaned now and then to keep it working.  The RF Modulator on mine has essentially quit working, so I got an emulator.  The cool thing about it is that the Range joystick is easier for me to use and I can play games that were PAL or never even released on cartridges with it.

I have one...the Miniature Golf picture label, which is PAL only and also Aussie-only (I think).

You could be right about that. A few years back i traded a Miniature Golf picture label with someone in Germany that told me they had never seen one come up over there in Europe. Weird, why would the PAL version only be released over here in Australia?

Atari collecting turns up bizarre results. LOL. It's like the blue label Defender cart that's Euro-only. Why does it exist? Who knows? :)

You see them over here in Australia too, i have a few.

See? That's the only way to figure out the wackiness of Atari...collector networking. I didn't know the blue Defenders were also in Australia. ?
