THX-1138
Good news for the VCS. I've been enjoying the arcade version in the Vault but this looks great. Any news on a release date?
Atari_JaguarVCS
This will be a day one purchase for me when it hits the VCS store and it would be great if there’s rotary support for the joystick on this version. I’ll end up picking it up on Nintendo Switch to lol already have it on Steam and Ps5 etc it’s so much fun.
Austin
Glad to see this being brought to other platforms. I feel like most sort of glossed over the Xbox One and PS4 versions from years back. It's a great (albeit extremely difficult) game. ?

Djmicklovin
Great finally! Why is the video unlisted?
Mockduck
Sweet! This one looks to be very similar to TxK on the Vita, which has so far been my favorite Minter Tempest game. It even kinda looks the same?

This one looks to be very similar to TxK on the Vita, which has so far been my favorite Minter Tempest game. It even kinda looks the same? As I recall, there was originally a planned console version of TxK under development. Atari forced Sony and Llamasoft to pull TxK from the Vita store, threatening legal action due to similarities with Tempest. The response from Minter fans was swift and damning for Atari (even though they were probably right). Cooler heads eventually prevailed and a development deal was struck for Llamasoft to bring Tempest 4K to consoles with Atari as the Publisher. The game is VERY TxK. I have it on PS4 and love it. Will be buying day one on VCS just for the rotary control.
tripled79
Gotta mention that it has the Tempest 2000 CD soundtrack or an option for the TxK or Tempest 2000 midi tracks during gameplay. Or at least it did for the PS4 version.

The original soundtrack on cartridge sounded way better in my opinion, they changed the drum truck and the bass lines in the CD version.

SMH ??♂️ Their own f***ing system! The VCS should be first for them and they need to stop treating it like an afterthought.
+SabertoothRetro
That was Forbes. Forbes hates the VCS so their choice of headline should not be surprising. Other headlines had both Switch and VCS. Hardcore Gamer had VCS first. https://hardcoregamer.com/news/tempest-4000-brings-electric-death-to-atari-vcs-switch-march-22/419490/
+SabertoothRetro
Just a friendly reminder that sometime today Tempest 4000 should be hitting the VCS store.
Atari_JaguarVCS
I’m super hyped it’s out today, it’s been a long time coming but I’m hopeful this could be the best version of the game especially if the spinner support is implemented and works well.
Atari_JaguarVCS
I just had a look on the Switch store to see if the game had dropped there yet while I wait for the VCS version and it seems the games now down for the 23rd and not today. I thought both the VCS and Switch version where launching on the same date. If the game doesn’t show up on the VCS today it’s probably going to be tomorrow. Atari_JaguarVCS
This is one for the modern controller the rotary/joystick support definitely needs tweaked but I guess rotary works for now but it feels off in my opinion.
