potatohead
A coworker friend of mine just ran into a white TI 99/4A that is almost New Old Stock quality. It's in the box, the wrapping has not been removed, nor components taken out of the box. There is a clipping from a computer magazine in the box showing some computers from the '84 time period. That's cool, and we will likely photograph or scan it just for kicks. That's in the box, laying on top of the other stuff. Looks to us like the original owner had opened the box itself, placed the clipping in there and closed it back up? He's wanting to sell it and is really wondering where to start on say, Ebay. Being an Apple, Atari, C64 person, I really don't know much about these at all, but my coworker friend knows even less! So, I thought I would tap the AA brain trust here and get a sense of what makes sense to do. And, frankly if anyone is interested, you can PM me and I'll connect you up to the owner and you take it from there.

Willsy
50$ seems a bit low. Personally I'd say $100 - but I would only buy the classic silver console - always thought the beige console was an abomination!

If it's brown, avoid it. If it's green, it's good. Look at the side port teeth, if they are copper, good, if they are aluminum it's probably a 2.2. If it were a 2.2 with a Mitsumi keyboard, that could negatively affect the price.
+Ksarul
The keyboard is one of the good ones, as it has rounded corners on the key caps, so it either Alps or Stackpole and not the useless Mitsumi-type. Looking at it otherwise, I would put the current value at about $75, although you could get lucky and have the price hit $100 or so.
+dhe
These are photo's from an ebay auction. So, Green is good, everything else not so much?
Ed in SoDak
The solder joints at every key position are to the pins of physical key switches, a membrane style wouldn't have that.
