Two Games Similar to Fight For Life

Hello all, 

 

I came across two PC DOS games that were released in 1995, while

Fight for Life was released in 1996. Fans of FFL  will enjoy these other examples

of 3D fighting games at the time.

Back in the day, I use to believe that "FX Fighter" and "XMEN Mutant Academy" shared the same engine with the later being a more refined polished version.

I remember reading the review of FX Fighter in CVG magazine, and bought the game when it came into the stores.

We were blown away by it, and thought that it was better than Virtua Fighter (which we had barely played).

I regret i didnt buy FFL when prices were ok. Well, need to settle for only owning Kasumi and Vortek, would been nice playing this 3D fighter even though being a stinker

pricecharting.com showing FFL loose at $53.27 and CIB $94.99. That's reasonable compared to lot of Jag games, especially for one fairly rare.

Save up the cash, get a GameDrive. Problem solved, and not just with regards to Fight for Life.

It wasnt actually ment to land in a discussion about my money. The thing is that I have what I play from officals -more actually- and slim down my collection with 15 carts. Thought to pick up Speedball before but remembered i actually played it until i got tired of it, and feel Brutal kind of tickle that spot anyway. No need for ME , you do it as you like, to pick up that for… battlesphere only - which i learned somewhere isnt compatible with it. But thanks for correct feedback and an objective and true thing to do in general. Need to be Picky and I wil never buy it, FFL. It is not in any list. And UI know I would regret it anyway haha

A little off topic, but battlesphere is compatible. Just press a button during the Atari screen when you load the game (so it skips the full jingle), and it should work fine.

 

Back on topic, how do these dos games compare to FFL in terms of gameplay? Do they have similar game mechanics?

I know is serious, but want to hit either laugh or cry emoticon, can't choose.
