Looking for disk mapper

Hi there

 

I am looking for a utility than can help me by graphically showing the used and available sectors on a disk, like Speedy 1050 System Software's Disk-Mapper:

 

 

Unfortunately this tools seems to work only if you have the Speedy hardware add-on installed on your disk drive.

 

Keep in mind that I need to be able to work with Single, 1050/Dual and Double Density disks.

 

Any recommendations?

I love Copymate! I had it as my #2 disk in my system floppy disk box. It'll even use extended RAM for double density disks and read everything in 1 go. And at US Doubler speeds. Of course people probably knew that anyway...

You can use mine which only supports SD and ED.

It show not only empty sectors but also sectors completely filled with $1A, $FF or any other single byte.

It creates TXT-files in Windows format and using a HSIO-enabled OS should also be able to do hi-speed.

Written in Atari BASIC and ABC-compiled. The (admittedly terrible) source code is on the disk. Adaptation to DD is a bigger task because sector buffer an assembler-subroutine share page 6, so there is no space for 256 byte sectors.

Disk Wizard II can map but has a terrible screen layout.

If you are working with images, ATR Tools even shows duplicates.

Due to all these square barckets the output is hard to read.

 i have copymate 4.4 and the xe series of it final ver was (I could find) 3.8 

 I always liked disk wiz II and wondered why no 80 col display or speed / density hacks were done for it.

Turbo-DOS XL/XE comes with a disk-mapper (which only seems to work with Turbo-DOS).

And Karolij Nadj (sp?) also wrote one many many moons ago (1987, only 35 years ago).

Thanks for the recommendations, I will try them out and see if they fit what I need.

 

I can see that some copiers include a disk sector 'visualizer' as a feature, I was hoping to find this as a stand alone application.

 

On the PC side, do we have an application to see the contents of an ATR that supports Single, 1050/Dual and Double Density disk images?

Never tested them with anything else than 90k disks. Think that Karolij's diskmapper does only 90k, since Turbo-DOS does 90k/130k/180k its diskmapper may also work with all three formats ?!?
