Best PAC-MAN games's hacks/homebrews on 7800

Hi ,

 

I look PAC-MAN games's hacks/homebrews , but the list is huge 

What are the best hacks/homebrews of PAC-MAN games  for 7800 ?

Any and all in the AtariAge store. And Bob's upgraded version of Pac-Man Collection! that basically dumps the actual arcade graphics and has a scroll to compensate. Don't think that's on a cartridge (yet) though.

We've reviewed a few over there- and our next big assignment is to get a handle on all of the maze hacks and homebrews. But without doing research atm and just going by memory, here's what I would vote for.

Pac Man Jr. 

Ms. Pac Man 320

 

As far as HACKS go...

 

Pac Man Jr. Snowday is a really cute holiday styled graphical hack of Pac Man Jr.

Baby Pac Man by UKI is an odd Pac Man style port that has the dots away from the corners

Pac-Jason is a cool horror themed hack where there are crucifixes in the corners. 

Crazy Otto is a port of a game that came out in the 80's that tried to rip off Pac Man completely

I have download the rom of Pac-Man plus

Where is the rom of "Pac-Man Plus" with original maze ?

 

And the port of "Pac-Man" with original maze, he exist ?

 

(I know are on Pac-man Collection , but I prefer a stand-alone rom)

Pac-Man Plus (same maze, new gameplay) *

Miss Pac-Attack (news mazes, same gameplay) (7800's name of Ms Pac-Man Plus) *

Jr Pac-Man (wides mazes with scrolling)

Super Pac-Man (add keys and doors)

Baby Pac-Man (mix pinball and video game)

I need to test again:

Pac-Man Arrangement (mazes of "pac-man arrangement")

 

Hacks

Ms Pac-Man Twist (port of a 2pl simultaneously old arcade bootleg)

 

Hacks plus mode

Jr Pac-Man Plus

Ms Pac-Man Plus (Ms Pac-Man with plus mode) *

I don't know why you prefer them, maybe you don't know that the versions included in the collection have many improvements, including the Pokey sound.

Thank you , but I have already select this version   , I know have many improvements , I search stand-alone versions of games rooted out "pac-man collection"    , If not exists , I will hack to make stand-alone versions myself (I'm a romhacker)

For Pac-Man JR Plus it's good I find it , he is in Pac-Man JR (pad2 + pause)

Either way, make sure you don't use Bob DeCrescenzo's code without asking him for his authorization.

 

As for the single games you mentioned above, they have already been released, you will certainly find them with some further research.

Ah no : Is just for me ,  I don't modif the code of others romhackers for SHARE IT . I respect the works of others romhackers

As a side note, excluding the first experiments done many years ago, in the latest releases Bob DeCrescenzo wrote the code from scratch.

Did I miss something?  Pac Man 40th anniversary is still not in the store yet? Anyway,  I've played the rom and this one is the "best" no doubt.

Pac Man Collection 40th Anniversary should be in the store soon, along with Galaxian, UniWarS, and the BIOS with KiloParsec.

 

Regarding the 'stand alone' versions, I've been trying to remove them from existence, as Pac-Man Collection was supposed to take care of all of the variations in one place.  Also, the stand-alone hacks aren't anywhere near as accurate as PMC, and especially PMC 40th.

Crazy Otto was the upgrade GCC did to Pac Man, and it is what became Ms. Pac Man. It has significant historical importance to video games.

If you possess Jr. Pac-Man, you already have Jr. Pac-Man Plus as well.

 

It is an Easter Egg / Hidden game.

 

At the title screen, hold down either button on the Player Two controller and the console's "Pause" button simultaneously. 

Wait a few seconds and the game toggles to Plus mode.

Continue to hold, or perform the same process again, to toggle back to the original game.
