CV Power Switch fix: blank screen?

Will the CV power switch replace/Desolder and clean fix a blank screen? That's all I get now on my workhorse CV. Not even a "please place game" message.

I fixed a blank screen CV by desoldering the power switch, and then carefully taking the switch apart and cleaning inside. I kept it for about a year afterwards and it still worked fine.
