electricmastro
Often when people ask for SNES recommendations, I hesitate to recommend some of them due to how expensive loose copies tend to get. So I thought to make a dedicated thread about them for anyone willing to pay more for them, so that they can know what to expect when looking for more games to buy and enjoy. Of such games, my recommendations would include: Pocky & Rocky 2 Metal Warriors Super Turrican 2 Zero the Kamikaze Squirrel Dragon View Mr. Nutz Sparkster Robotrek SOS Super Adventure Island II Edited May 1, 2022 by electricmastro

Cobra Kai
Kind of a bad system to do this for, because everything worth playing is expensive.
Austin
There's plenty on the system that's still affordable and still "good". That said, if you want the longer adventures it's well-known for, yeah, things can get expensive fast.

Quirky as hell, great characters & dialogue, wacky combat system w/trippy backgrounds and animation, and killer soundtrack <- just to skim the surface of its awesomeness. To play it is to love it. electricmastro
A nice strategy game with a SimCity-construction sort of vibe:

Tanooki
I can think of a good number and mind you to me expensive is when a SNES game is just touching but realistically at $100+USD. In no real particular order: EVO, Demon's Crest, Space Megaforce, Sunset Riders, Wild Guns, both Pocky & Rocky games, R-Type III, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound, Adventures of Batman & Robin, Mega Man 7+X2+X3 (and soon to be soccer), Super Adventure Island II, Run Saber, Castlevania Dracula X, Final Fight 3 (and Final Fight Guy if you want that), Final Fight 2 too, Captain Commando, King of Dragons, Ninja Gaiden Trilogy, Biker Mice From Mars (recently ranged $80-125 so $100 avg), Kirby's Dream Land 3, Ogre Battle, Soul Blazer, and another just now hitting $100 is Super Mario RPG. I'd recommend any of those if you don't care about going broke if you went for a number of those.
dudeguy
Kirby's Dream Land 3 is the best Kirby game I have played. I recently beat it. It was around $150. Most of the Japanese counterparts to the NTSC releases are exactly the same and cost significantly less. I got Rockman X and X2 for like nothing and theyre the same game as the American ones

I want that one back bad, but damn that price is awful, not even the retrobit release made a dent, instead the predators drove that one up to competing stupid levels. ? Rockman7 I've looked at, but with the in game shops, discussions...it's a bad idea, same with Demon's Crest.
XtraSmiley
Most of my super expensive SNES games are from a few trips I took to Japan before COVID and prices shooting up. Still, even loose, Pocky and Rocky and shmup games had already gone up in price a bit. Cheaper than the US, but still pricey.
digdugnate
Terranigma is the first one that comes to mind for me. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terranigma
electricmastro
New Horizons is quite the gem as far as adventure games on the system go, sort of like a combo of Final Fantasy and Pirates!
