HSC19 R7: BANDITS

Recommended Posts

9895.  Seems to be about all I can muster, Mister.

At least for this round.

Pretty cool game.  Has a very Apple //ish feel to it.  I wonder if it used the internal speaker on the 800.  Anyone?  I'm using an XE so I can't tell the difference.

Use the shield!! Yes cool game, watch the title screen animation for apple to atari logo! I'm on XE too but bet it does sound great on the 800 (mine's in the cupboard).

Ah, didn't know there was a shield, perhaps I'll play again at some point, haven't had much time recently

@therealbountybob Are you taking late scores? I've been out for a few rounds due to the total collapse of the laptop I was using to load .atr images for SIO2PC. But I'm back up and running now! Just wanted to get on the board if I can.

no problem graywest

So just for fun, I played the VIC-20 version. It was NTSC only up till 7 years ago when it was patched for PAL among with a few more cartridge games that previously only ran on NTSC due to timing issues. However I did play this on my NTSC machine. One of the differences I noticed is that the fruit get replenished to 5 for each stage, unlike on the Atari where you continue with as many fruits as you had from previous stage. Whichever is correct, I'm not sure.

At least I scored 38340 pts, which is 27% more than my Atari score above. It probably is a lot due to the bonus fruit replenishing on each stage, and shows that it is not relevant to compare scores across different versions of the same game.
