My EBay Adam :(

I bought this Adam on EBay and paid more for shipping than i did for the computer 

 

This is how it was wrapped and how it arrived

 

The box arrived without a tear or dent.  So sad

 

Newspaper and grocery bags are not a replacement for bubble wrap

Good thing you bought it through eBay since they have the best buyer protection in the industry.  You can at least get your money back on a return or the seller might just refund you and tell you to keep it (that's what I would do actually if I was the seller).  Shame that a good Adam got destroyed by piss poor packaging or lack thereof though.  What a waste.

I echo what Ruggers Customs said.  Report it to Ebay and you'll get your money back, at the very least.

I bought a never used Colecovision in the box and the dude I bought it from wrapped the whole thing in reversed Christmas wrapping and wrote my name and address on it.
FED EX put a hole through the side of it ruining the collectors item.

When I complained he criticized me of all things.

 

Since EBay started putting tax on 40 year old items, dumped pay pal and that incident I never buy through them anymore.

So sad... another Adam bites the dust due to complete and utter stupidity, and so needlessly. I imagine that when the box was opened, you had such a feeling of such *violation*, seeing a classic and irreplaceable item like an Adam computer ruined. Is it totally unsalvageable? At the very least you should get your complete refund (tax, shipping, and item price, included) and get to keep the Adam and attempt to salvage what you can, if anything.

 

I suggest there be a special place in hell for people who package items like the above.
