Frozone212
I get that you need a genesis to use both the 32X and CD but what if both were incorporated in the system today? How powerful would the new genesis be? Would it be able to run Terminator Judgment Day? Arcade Primal rage? Think. The 32X would use an ARM processor, the base genesis would use the latest intel chip. Imagine the possibilities. thoughts? DeathAdderSF
I love the Genesis just the way it is. ? BUT !! I'd be a liar if I didn't add that I'd love it even more had it somehow been able to initially ship with the 32x tech already on board. 256 colors right out of the gate would have made it a perfect machine, in my view. No need for a CD unit at all. Edited May 16, 2022 by DeathAdderSF
CapitanClassic
It would be just as powerful as it was previously. The difference is that the Genesis/32x/SegaCD hardware would be built into a single chip.
Steven Pendleton
That already exists and its name is MiSTer.
Tanooki
UGH NO... no mister, bad. That said, it was remade, as a Mini console by Sega, sadly without a cartridge port. But that was done by ATGames as they got their license pulled for a decades of incompetence with their last HDMI box that outdid the Sega mini, and ran carts. That's how it would, should, and could have been done but too late, and then the analogue Mega SG.
Asaki
Sure, it would be powerful, but you don't see a lot of people programming for the 32x/CD. That new DOOM port is pretty impressive, though.
